RAID Array Overview:
High speed, reliable data storage and file serving is a must
for any large computing system. A Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) is the preferred method of
providing high speed, reliable data storage and file serving. From low cost arrays based on IDE
or SATA disks
for simple applications to multiple fibre channel Storage Area Networks (SAN) for Application Service
Providers (ASP) or revenue generating e-commerce, RAID arrays are the storage
systems of choice.
Many possible RAID configurations are available. Any shuttle type with any
controller can be specially integrated to specifically meet your requirements. UltraSCSI-320 or Fibre
Channel interfaces are supported. RAID modes 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50 can be implemented.
The ISS-RAID Series supports any 5.25 inch half height RAID controller.
Single or dual redundant controllers can be configured to support any level of
fault tolerance. The ISS-RAID Series can be equipped with up to eight 5.25 inch wide (half height)
devices. All disks can be mounted in hot swap IDE, SATA, or SCSI disk shuttles.
The ISS-RAID Series has fixed or hot swap internal fans for outstanding
cooling and reliability. The ISS-RAID Series comes standard with dual, hot swap power supplies and can
be ordered in either tan, gray or black colors.
These tower enclosures will support
multiple Terabytes of data storage.
The ISS-RAID Series is operating system independent and supports Windows
2003/XP or Linux server
configurations.
Towers, 2U, 3U, 4U, 5U and 6U Raid arrays
are available that can support multiple Terabytes of high performance
data protected storage. Special arrays can also be configured with
integrated tape backup.
